CBD..Hemp Seed..BCP Hemp: What’s the difference?

The two most common questions asked at our pop up stalls is …

Question 1-Is this CBD oil?

Question 2-I use hemp seed oil, isn’t BCP the same thing?

The short answer to both questions is “NO”.

What is Beta-Caryophyllene (BCP) hemp oil?

Beta-Caryophyllene hemp oil (BCP) is not CBD, Cannabis or Hemp Seed oil.

BCP is an isolated terpene, extracted from the hemp plant offering similar health benefits to traditional cannabis oil without the psychoactive effects inherent with products containing THC.

The below extract sourced from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) website confirms the TGA’s classing of Beta-Caryophyllene (BCP) as a terpene.

“…A submission raised the issue of Beta Caryophyllene (BCP) being a cannabinoid …. Research by the secretariat has confirmed that Beta Caryophyllene is a terpene that is a selective agonist of cannabinoid receptor type-2 (CB2)…”

In Australia, a terpene is legal because they are a large class of organic compounds produced by plants and responsible for a plant’s aroma and flavour.

Terpenes interact with the body’s cells to produce different physiological effects that can be highly effective in treating ailments like arthritis, anxiety, depression, stress and insomnia.

As per the TGA’s decision, the Cannamax Plus BCP hemp oils that pink vine presents sell, are legally approved by the TGA for purchase and consumption in Australia.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is a Cannabidiol or cannabinoid.  With many CBD oils containing trace amounts of THC, CBD oil is a scheduled product and legal under the strictest medical circumstances involving doctor referral compliance, with state and federal government legislature.

 What is Hemp Seed Oil?

Hemp seed oil comes from the seeds of the hemp plant. A natural emollient, it’s very good for your skin.

Does BCP hemp oil REALLY help arthritic pain?

Yes.  BCP hemp oil interacts with the body in a similar way to CBD oil, sharing excellent anti-inflammatory, analgesic (pain relief) and mood regulating properties.

Some may argue BCP oil is more effective than CBD oil since BCP directly binds with the body’s CB2 receptors helping mood regulation, inflammation and one’s immunity system.  CBD oil does not share this binding ability with CB2 receptors.

Maria from pink vine presents – My experience with Arthritis and BCP oil….

Yes, BCP hemp oil does help the arthritis in my neck and back.

For those familiar with vertebrae anatomy, I have spurs in my neck/cervical vertebrae (at C4, C5 and C6) and spine curvatures at T3 and T7 in my thoracic vertebrae and at L3 in my lumbar vertebrae.

Although not a “permanent cure” it does reduce my pain intensity and enables me to sleep for 4-5 hours at a time each night instead of the 2-3 hours of broken sleep I was used to getting, especially over the last two years.

Workwise, I’m a sole trader who puts marquees up in weather extremes and travels all manner of distances to trade at local markets, community events and local shows.

I have noticed particularly when driving those medium to long distances, before trading 6-8 hours and then driving the return leg home, the BCP really makes a difference.

Cannamax Plus with Hemp

Long, physically draining days are made bearable when taking my drops (orally) in the morning when awaking.

Throughout the day’s trade I will sporadically rub (topically) BCP into the hot spot ‘pain’ areas of my neck and back to keep limber and fluid.

An added personal benefit was that I discovered the BCP hemp oil engenders a feeling of calm and well-being within me, which is rather helpful when driving along the Bruce Highway or M1 Pacific Motorway at 4am in the morning.

I highly recommend this product.  I use it every day and certainly notice the difference in restricted mobility when I’ve skipped a day or two.
